These terms govern the purchase of bentops on this site. By placing an order, you accept them. They come in addition to the Licence agreement, which governs use of the software.

bentops is a desktop application for macOS and Windows that lets you follow your tasks and projects and measure your time, while keeping your data on your own computer. The purchase grants a perpetual, personal and non-commercial licence, for a single user, under the Licence agreement. “Non-commercial” has the meaning given in the Agreement: your own individual work is included, whether freelance, contract or employed; only company-wide deployment and resale are excluded.

System requirements: macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows. One optional sub-feature, “Calls and messages” inside Day memory, is available on macOS only; everything else in the application is identical on both systems. Your purchase is covered by our satisfaction-or-refund guarantee, described on the Refunds page.

Territory. bentops is offered for sale in Canada only. By placing an order, you confirm that you reside in Canada. We do not offer the product elsewhere and we do not collect the taxes of other countries. An order placed from outside Canada may be cancelled and refunded in full, with no further consequence for you.

3. Price, currency and taxes

The price of bentops is $69.99 CAD, in Canadian dollars, before tax. The sales taxes applicable to your province of residence (GST, HST, or GST and QST in Quebec) are calculated and added at the payment step. The total amount, taxes included, is shown to you before you confirm your order.

The price may change at any time, without notice. The price that applies to your purchase is the one shown when you confirm your order; a later change has no effect on a purchase already completed.

Taxes are calculated and collected using Stripe Tax.

4. Order and confirmation

Before confirming, you can review your order (product, price, taxes, total). The sale is completed when your payment is accepted. You then receive a confirmation by email.

5. Payment

Payment is processed by Stripe, our payment provider. It is made by credit card or by the methods offered at checkout. We do not store card numbers, which are handled directly by Stripe. The processing of your payment information is described in our Privacy policy.

6. Digital delivery

bentops is a digital good delivered by download. As soon as payment is accepted, you receive by email your receipt along with your two keys: a download key and an activation key. You can download the software again at any time with your download key, with no limit. If you do not receive this email, or if you lose your keys, write to admin@bentops.com and we will send them to you again.

7. Information and copy of the contract

Before the sale is completed, we clearly provide our identity and contact details, the description and system requirements of the product, the price, the taxes, the currency, the payment terms, the delivery terms, and our cancellation and refund policies. This information is presented so that you can print and keep it.

In accordance with the law, we send you a copy of the contract by email, within 15 days of the completion of the sale.

8. Cancellation, refund and warranties

Our voluntary refund policy and your cancellation rights under the law are described in our Refund policy. The legal warranties provided by the Consumer Protection Act and the Civil Code of Québec apply and are not excluded by these terms.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability related to the sale is limited to the amount paid, without excluding the rights that the law grants to consumers. See also the corresponding section of the Licence agreement.

10. Governing law, language and contact

These terms are governed by the law applicable in Quebec. They are drafted in French, which is the authoritative version. If you are a consumer, you keep the right to bring proceedings before the court of your place of residence where the law allows.
